Declan Rice is the Premier League’s best player, while Phil Foden has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or one day.
That is according to former England manager Glenn Hoddle, who also had a word of advice for Jack Grealish.
Gareth Southgate is now in charge of the national team and saw his side qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with a 10-0 win over San Marino.
In his possession is one of the most talented England groups ever seen and the midfield is packed with tremendous young talent.
Rice is having a phenomenal campaign for West Ham as David Moyes’ men sit in third position in the Premier League after 11 games.
He’s been arguably the Hammers’ best player, breaking up opposition attacks and even adding goals to his game at the heart of the midfield.
Unsurprisingly, rumours are swirling about where he could end up in the future, with his club currently valuing him at £100million – a figure which is soaring with every game.
Man City’s Foden, meanwhile, continues to set the division alight and is seemingly getting better with every game under Pep Guardiola’s stewardship,
And Hoddle waxed lyrical about the England duo in light of their superb campaigns so far.
“I think Declan Rice is the best player in the Premier League, he’s going to get better and better,” he said.
“For me, I think Phil Foden in three years time will be the best player in the world.
“He has got everything. I saw him when he was 17 when they won the youth World Cup and he was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch and that was against the South Americans.
“I said at the time he looked more South American than they did!
“He knows how to penetrate the six-yard box, can score goals from inside and out.”
Hoddle also spoke about Grealish, who hasn’t quite hit the heights expected since his £100m summer transfer to Man City.
And he believes the attacking midfielder needs to adjust his game under Guardiola.
“Jack for me is a wonderful talent but the difference is if you look at him now, he probably isn’t enjoying his game as much as he did at Villa,” he added.
“He loves to hold the ball and take people on but Pep’s got him popping it off first time because he’s got so much talent around him.
“At Villa, he was the danger man so if three players come over and he’s popping it off to someone, he’s creating space for people.
“If he can do that a bit more, your De Bruynes and Fodens are going to get even better.
“He’s got to adjust his game if he’s going to play in that role, but he’s got to become a real goalscorer and get into those positions.”
