Glenn Hoddle has told talkSPORT he has been hugely impressed by Davinson Sanchez since his arrival at Tottenham.
The Colombian defender, a £42million signing from Ajax, has started the past two games and Hoddle has seen enough from the 21-year-old already to predict he will be a big hit at the north London club.
Speaking to Georgie Bingham and Tony Cascarino on the Weekend Breakfast show, the Spurs legend said: “Sanchez is an out-and-out defender. [Toby] Alderweireld and [Jan] Vertonghen are wonderful defenders but also they are wonderful players on the ball. They use the ball, pick people off and come out with the ball.
“Sanchez is not going to particularly be like that but if they play that three at the back you can see that being a really nice balance.
“He just wants to defend and he is quick and aggressive. I think he is a really good signing.”
Hoddle has also been impressed with what he has seen from another summer recruit, Serge Aurier.
Mauricio Pochettino moved to bring in the Ivorian full-back from Paris Saint-Germain in a £23million deal after Kyle Walker joined Manchester City for £50m.
“Losing Kyle Walker and replacing him with Aurier, it looks like that will work,” said Hoddle.
“Going forward he looks good, I think he will get better and better and I think he will probably make Tottenham better defensively.”
