Glenn Hoddle joked that Tottenham’s dramatic draw in Barcelona did not help his recovery from a recent heart attack.
Spurs pulled off a miraculous escape from their Champions League group after Lucas Moura’s late goal sealed a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.
Hoddle, the Tottenham legend, collapsed at the BT Sport studios on October 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest, and later underwent successful surgery before returning home to recover.
“That just wasn’t good for my recovery! But a great performance well done boys, deserved to win,” Hoddle wrote on social media platform Twitter.
The message was the first time he has posted on social media since his collapse.
Spurs were helped through to the knockout stages by PSV Eindhoven, who belied their status as the group’s last place team to secure a 1-1 draw away at Inter Milan.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men needed to match the result of Inter to go through and faced elimination when Marco Icardi cancelled out PSV’s early goal.
However, Moura’s 85th-minute strike swung the group in Spurs’ favour and some heroic defending from PSV ensured that a draw was enough to progress.
