West Ham just haven’t been scoring normal goals of late – and that was certainly the case during their 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
It’s GameDay on talkSPORT and despite three more incredible live games, we didn’t think anything could top last weekend.
But just 18 minutes in, the Premier League went and stunned us all over again.
Following Manuel Lanzini’s screamer against Tottenham last Sunday, Michail Antonio produced a wonder goal of his own against Man City.
The Hammers striker somehow managed to score a first-time overhead kick from a looping cross with his back to goal, surrounded by Eric Garcia and Ruben Dias. It was quite something.
In fact, it was so good that even Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle celebrated.
Speaking on commentary for BT Sport, the former England manager said: “I’m not a West Ham fan but I jumped in the air as well – it was sensational.”
Phil Foden was sent on for a rescue mission for a worryingly poor Man City at half-time – and the England international made an instant impact.
He scored his third goal in four away matches with a smart turn and shot on 51 minutes, and Pep Guardiola’s men were much improved in the second-half.
Despite a lot of pressure, the visitors were forced to settle for a point which leaves them 11th in the Premier League, while the Hammers go tenth.
In normal circumstances, you’d expect that to be the other way round, but nothing about this Premier League season is normal!
